hello everyone. i am encountering a tiny problem, being a newbie artisan, and i need some help and insight from those who think they understand the market-world of l2. a few days after the server-launch i was able to craft ssc and bssc. obviously bssc was not an option as one can find them very cheap at the grocery store. so i sat down and sold ssc for, let's say, three nights. at first sales were going pretty well, at a price of 20a and 19a i was giving away ss by the pound. suddenly, though, people completely stopped buying them. in a matter of hours. during the first day and up to the afternoon of the second i was doing quite alright but after that people stopped buying. i would sell maybe 1k ssc every two hours or so. i'm positive my prices were great as i always offered 1 to 2 adena lower than every other dwarf around.

nevertheless i decided to move on to bssb. i said to myself that the largest amount of players just went b-grade and that's why ssc just wouldn't do it anymore. so i started selling bssb. sales, again, were going really great. with prices around 320a i was a very competitive offer and at the same time i was making enough profit to be happy, but, alas, this situation didn't last longer than two days either. thing is that even now, after, almost, a week, there are still tons of people on b-grade but even prices like 300a won't attract them. selling ssb is out of the conversation, with some crazy guys out there offering them at <50 adena... (question: how are those guys making any profit at all? it costs me 49 adena to craft an ssb and i have seen people selling them at 48. am i missing something??).

so the big questions are :
    - am i not selling well because most of the people have moved up to a grade weapons or is it something else?
    - how can some people offer ss at so low prices?
    - how can i be sure that i will be able to sell my ss/bss/crystals and get my money back (even better if with some profit) if i decide to crystallize a tallum armor?
    - having seen the prices of ssa(around 90a) and bssa(around 370a) i'm not sure i will be able to offer such prices and have profit from it. is there a super-easy / super-well-known way of obtaining cheaper-than-normal crystals??
    - should i move up to a ss/bss or sticking with b is still a viable option and i'm just not doing things right atm?

i've tried selling everywhere. from giran and heine to aden, rune and schuttgart to no avail. any helpful tips are greatly appreciated.
    thank you in advance guys.

oki here is the deal: if u wanna be sure to make money selling ss u should make a and s grade. ssc and ssb dont represent a good business because ppl get pass these lvl's very easy... took me 2 days to raise a char from 1 to 62. so u should focus on making ssa and sss because it will be harded to pass those lvls. i know 2 guys that constantly suply me with ssa for 80a, here is the thing its all about the crystals. dont try to make ur math based on crafting costs... focus on finding crystals cheaper( buying items to cristalyse, believe me if ur patient and a good negociator its tottally worth the time), not selling cheaper ss. ofc the main market town is aden.

first - i make cheaper shots
second - chance of making items full not bound and full drops made the cristal prices go so low that the crafting price went even lower get a calculator run around the market see the cristals prices and count got dam it :d

i had a hunch it had something to do with those unidentified objects turning into free full items :p
thanks ash for confirming that the problem really is the fact that people moved on to a grade too fast. and thank you both for explaining to me how can others offer such low prices. i think you helped me a lot! i'm going to try to sell some bssa right now :) one last question: apart from ss/bss, selling crystals and private creation stores, do they generate any good income or am i going to be getting like 100k per hour??

    thanks again :)

it is clear after reading your post that you have no bussiness sense whatsoever. i would recommend moving out of the craft bussiness or leveling as fast as you can to 85.

thing is, toyaga, that i'm a casual gamer. i don't want to hurry anything. i just want to grind when i feel like and that's why i picked a dwarf. because he is the class that can generate profit while afk. so, it would be great if you recommended ways on how to actually succeed in business and get that sense you are talking about, instead. thank you though :)

you haven't played a dwarf before, have you?

@op: people have pointed out the main problems already. rush to the levels when you can craft a grade and you'll do fine. there's people selling crystals on market cheap, you can buy from them and craft. or buy cheap a grade items on market and get crystals even cheaper.

thanks a lot lina. i started crafting bssa a few minutes ago but i got so disheartened by the fact that it costs me around 280a to craft one bssa and i see other players selling them @ prices lower than 300 adena. legit sellers, not scammers. if i was to sell my bssa at 300 adena a piece i would make 20 adena per bss sold. it wouldn't even cover my aden-giran-aden teleport expenses...

edit : i think that buying ss/bss packs through primeshop has something to do with those ridiculous prices but im not sure :s

i have no idea whatsoever what you are doing.

when i was crafting actively, my creation costs were bssa around 270a, bssb 195a.
i made most of my shots crafting from other dorfs in creation store mode, 1-2k added to material cost. (yay, 5-15 dorfs mp reg power! screw you, dualbox rechargers! xd)
    so, 280a / bssa, 215a / bssb.
of course selling bssa for 300 is madness before crystal prices fall some more (6250a in npc, still some way to go from 10k), but meh.
i bet there's a lot of players out there who can't even do the math right, how do you expect them to come up with reasonable prices?
and then there's still more who think it's all fine while they're making 5-10a profit a shot.

use it while theres a profit to roll, then move on.
and, for your moneys sake, don't go craft stuff when you can't get your hands on cheap materials (/crystals).
you as a casual gamer have to realize this. finding cheap sellers (not to call them... um... fools! yes, thats appropriatly mild.) takes time.

ps: dont try to compete with 5k shot pack sellers. they ruin the market with their pricing, and there's a lot of players out there who won't afford 5k shots at a time anyway.
i sold most of my bssb in portions of 500-2000.

edit: and why are you even porting between aden and giran?
my dorf hasn't moved further than up and down aden stairs in a week.
you realize there's a mail system?

so, you say ignoring all those guys who sell bssa at 300 adena and sticking to a price around 350-360a is the way to go? the fact that i did not have a great starting capital to buy crystals (i only had 600k to spend when i started creating bssa) made me crystallize my own, bought-from-luxury, tallum helmet so i can buy some spirit ores. so i will have to wait until i get a good 4-5kk adena before i'm able to bargain cheap crystals and items from others. i expect my costs to drop but its kind of a long way till that point...

the fact is that thos ppl that sell em cheap, they get crystals needed for crafting from drops, usualy clans have a dwarf that gets all not needed drops like a gr items and stuff, he makes em into crystals and make cheap shots, making that clan profit.

can you be a bit more specific? doesn't the mail system cost adena for item transfers?

    just browsed aden.

cheapest bssa i found were 320, and they were sold by a single dorf and 1 elf, totalling about 9000 shots.
and 1 guy selling packs for 300/shot (1.5m! you can't even afford that, and you're a dorf!)**
    330 looks good atm.

ignore pack sellers, mind normal shops. if too many sell very cheap, don't waste your time. just go farm.
manaherbs increase your production anyway, in case you're walking a thin line of profit.

you don't have to bargain, just look for deals on sell stores if you can't afford full items for crystalizing.

remark: how are you even starting from 600k after selling c and b shots before?
    never crystalized d weapons? lvl24 i simply jumped to 2m just by sitting in gludio for 2 hours watching shout and auctioneer --;

**though i think you don't count, having failed to secure a financial foothold for 61 levels.

finally: o god i just realized you're greek. how fitting.

i broke myself to like 500k adena by buying two a grade weapons and whole maj plate set when having only 10mil. that was yesterday morning. today, i'm already looking at 10mil again, and by this time tomorrow i should probably have close to 30, at this speed. oh and i'm at work 9-17. :v

try selling outside aden. port to toi, set up at a level that's ~70 appropriate (player can't use s grade yet, but also surely doesn't use b anymore), sell bssa 360 adena, ssa for 100 adena. a lot of people will rather buy for a higher price than porting back and forth (and, aden is often laggy, sometimes even disconnecty). :p

edit: use embroider. buy a cheap robe set as soon as you can afford it. majestic works wonders with the +1 men, +mp regen and +1000 mp, but costs a couple millions.

lol i managed having more than 10kk alright! the thing is that having bought a bound karmian set, so i can have a robe to wear, i found out that there was no set effect for it. i automatically concluded that the same would apply to b and a grade bound sets as well. that's why i dumped most of my money on a tallum set. i've been regretting this for awhile :(

also i would advise you to refrain from blaming the greek people for the country's financial situation. lack of knowledge about the subject can make you sound very stupid (i'm not trying to be offensive here). anyways, i don't want to turn this into a political debate. it's irrelevant to the thread's subject.

depends on time of day, planet alignment and other such random things. sometimes i sell 20 million worth of ss/bss in small towns/at dungeons in less than two hours, sometimes i can't sell any at all, even in aden at a cheap price.

yeah, i'm starting to feel that as well :p looks like random events have a much bigger say on how will my business go than anything else. decided there's nothing i can do about it so from now on i'm crafting as many ss/bss as i can and then afking for a couple of days :) i guess that i will have a satisfying amount of adena at some point in the future.

i was selling shots for 85a ssa 310/315 bssa - 30+a profit on bssa, 15a on ssa. some guy even told me it is too expensive (cool story bro)

20+mp regen per tick wins :d
