first of all, don't expect this thread to make you have all your problems solved as by a miracle - i'm creating this thread by knowing that it will help some more careless users to feel at least a slight performance improvement on their personal computers.

any one that feels like giving their advise on this thread are most welcome.

    step one:

every computer has hardware, and every hardware has their drivers so they can run roperly with your os. the most important drivers you should have up to date are those referring to the motherboard and the graphic card. you should look if you have the correct drivers installed, or if you have any out dated driver installed. sometimes, even though you have the most recent drivers, you may still have the older one installed which usually creates conflicts and errors. if you have a laptop you should go at the manufacturers official web site and download it according to the model you possess. allways download drivers from the manufacturer.

    step two:

don't run several appliances at the same time - the more programs you run at the same time, the more you charge your cpu with tasks, the more you fill your ram with data, the more your hdd is beeing used, thus lowering the general perfomance of your computer. some programs are scheduled to initiate when your os is loading, so you should see which ones you really need, and turn off the ones you don't need to start with the os.

    step three:

get your hands on some registry/temporary files cleaner and hdd defrag software. be wise in your choices though - if you don't have any knowledge in working with this kind of softwares, just use the tools you have available within your os. when you cleanse the registry, your windows and programs cache, you'll get rid of some unwanted garbage, and running the defrag will turn your hdd more solid and organized, thus hendiring a faster acess to those files.

note: these are the basic software maintenance steps, and even though most error related problems can't be solved through this actions (errors for ex. can be solved sometimes by updating your drivers correctly), the same actions can improve your computer with even the slightiest bit of performance.

    best regards, kunieda.
