Dear friends, We regret to say that recently we have encountered the case of mass account hacking. Comprehensive investigation of this case revealed that the mass security breach was most probably caused by a leak of a private server database. While a lot of users prefer using the same personal data on a number of private servers, once one of these servers goes insecure, it may give a key to users' personal data all around the web. In view of these facts we would like to remind you of some essential rules and tips that will help you keep your private information secure and provide comfortable gaming. 1. Private servers. Private servers have no security guarantees. When you decide to try a private server, please mind the consequences. Owners of these servers actually break the law as they are engaged in piracy, and they obviously do not aim at keeping your personal data secure. 2. Phishing links, clone sites. Beware of using clone sites. Official 4game sites always contain https://eu.4game.com/ in their address. Phishing site address may look similar, but if you study it carefully, you will definitely see some minor differences. 3. Passwords and activation codes. Our Support specialists will never ask for your password. You are required to enter a password only upon logging in or changing password on our official site. Beware of entering your password or notification code on phising sites, once you did it, hackers get total control of your account. Use long difficult passwords containing letters, numbers and symbols. 4. Make your account more secure with Trusted PC option. To make your account more secure, we recommend you to make Trusted PC option for your account turned on. It means that every time someone tries to log in from another PC to your account, the activation code will be sent to your e-mail address or to your mobile phone if it is bound to your account. So, if your e-mail/mobile phone is secure, your account will be secure as well. Here you can find a short FAQ on how Trusted PC option works. You can turn this option ON using this link. Spoiler How does it work? If a device is in your Trusted PCs list, everything will work just like before. However, it will be impossible to log in to your game from an unknown device without first entering a special access code sent to your e-mail or mobile phone. How can I make my device trusted? When logging in to your game check «Add to Trusted» box, and we won’t ask you for an access code for this device anymore. Or you can just click on «Add» below. How can I delete a device from the Trusted PCs list? When you activate the function your Trusted PCs list will be shown here. If you delete a device from the list, the access code will be required when logging in from it. What if I have a dynamic IP? The situation is typical for many Internet providers, so we won’t ask you to enter an access code more than absolutely necessary. Will the function be deactivated if I delete all devices from my Trusted PCs list? No, it just means that logging in from any device will require an access code. The function is deactivated separately. Will I need to enter an SMS code when logging in from my notebook in another place? We understand that a mobile phone is not always within reach while traveling. That is why 4game doesn’t register a place where you are logging in. It is the 4game application data on the device that matters. If it isn’t changed, you won’t be asked to enter an access code. Why is a device automatically deleted from the Trusted PCs list in 40 days? If a device from the Trusted PCs list is not active for 40 days, chances are high that it is not used anymore or that it was added to the list accidentally (for example, when playing from PC cafe or while visiting a friend). That is why we automatically delete such devices from the list. 5. E-mail account security. As long as 4game account is obliged to be bound to e-mail address, it is essential to keep your e-mail account secure as well. To make your account more secure if you do not have a mobile phone bound to your account or you experience problems with receiving SMS from 4game website, we can advise you using two-step-verification for your e-mail if your mail service supports this option (e.g. gmail.com). You can turn it on in your profile's settings. It means that your account will be protected with Trusted PC option, and to get access to your mail to break this security potential it will be still necessary to get SMS to your phone. 6. Windows account settings. Check you Windows account settings, turn Turn User Account Control on and move the slider to the Always notify position. Hacker usually moves the slider to the Never notify position. 7. Account sharing. We highly recommend you not to share your account with another user, regardless of how much you trust this user. Please note that if you voluntarily give someone your account details, Administartion no longer bears any responsibility considering your personal data and your ingame valuable items. You do it on your own risk. Following these simple rules will minimize the risk of being hacked!
