'"sir" yourself...' said tully to himself. the purpose of this experiment is to see whether bestowing an attribute is an efficient way to improve weapons and skills. attacker: lvl 99 tyrr warrior, human, equipped with: eternal light armor set (enchant-type), amaranthine slasher. target character: lvl 99 aeore healer, human, equipped with: eternal robe set. the char has not learned the superior elements resistance skill, so the basic defense attribute of the char is 0. stage 1 the tyrr warrior uses mega strike +0 (there is no dispersion of damage) on aeore healer, both chars with no buff; soul shots and momentum are not used. the weapon is being gradually enhanced with fire crystal, the damage variation is recorded. upon reaching 300 attribute points the tyrr warrior used dark form, which gives additional 20 attribute points, and then valakas agathion special skill: valakas' blessing lvl 7, which gives 30 additional attribute points (thus, the total attribute points reached 350). here is a diagram that shows variation in damage inflicted depending on the attack attribute: conclusion: the damage inflicted gradually increases till attribute points reach 220. further attribute bestowment does not affect damage but is essential in order to overcome the defense attribute of the target. stage 2 the tyrr warrior is equipped with a weapon enhanced by 300 attribute, while the healer's defense attribute is gradually increased with water crystal. the variation in damage depending on the difference between the attack and defense attribute is recorded. here is a diagram that illustrates the results: conclusion: as you can see from the diagram, there is an increase in inflicted damage if the number of attribute points of the attacker surpasses defense attribute points of the target character by 216 and more. the target character can decrease received damage by as much as 25% if the defense from the attribute used by the attacker surpasses attack attribute of this character by 216 and more. bonus test there is a myth that says that it is better to have 0 weapon elemental attribute points for pvp (this is possible for human characters as they do not have race bonuses for any attribute), so that you have no attack bonus but you will not experience decrease in damage inflicted on the target. this is important for top-level characters that have defense from all attributes. our purpose is to establish if this is true. attacker: tyrr warrior 99 lvl, human, equipped with: eternal light armor set (enchant-type), amaranthine slasher and amaranthine slasher 300 fire attribute. target character: aeore healer 99 lvl, human, equipped with eternal robe set 600 fire attribute. the tyrr warrior attacks the aeore healer with mega strike +0. both chars have no buff, soul shots and momentum are not used. first the attacker used the amaranthine slasher and the inflicted damage was 982, then he used the amaranthine slasher 300 fire attribute, which, according to the myth, is supposed to inflict 25% less damage than the same weapon without attribute. nonetheless, the damage inflicted was also 982. this dispels our myth so let us examine the causes to this result. the aeore healer changes his equip to eternal robe set and will be attacked by the tyrr warrior using amaranthine slasher with the mega strike +0 skill. the damage inflicted equals 1309; this result may be considered as base damage by a weapon without attribute on a char equipped with armor with no attribute. if we enhance the aeore healer's (target) set by 120 with fire crystals, the inflicted damage will be 1154, which corresponds to the decrease in damage by 12%, as if the attacker actually had the attribute from which the target character has defense. if we enhance the aeore healer's set by 300 with water crystals (so in total it is 120 water defense and 300 fire defense), the inflicted damage equals 982, the same result as before. conclusion: if the attacker has no attack attribute, the damage the char inflicts is counted as if he had attribute from which the target character has defense. thus, there is a point in bestowing attributes on weapons anyway.
